The national day of football.

On July 19 we celebrate the national day of football.

The choice of date was made through the CBF, the Brazilian Football Confederation, to honor the first time as a registered club in Brazil, the Sport Club Rio Grande, founded in 1900.

Football arrived in Brazil in 1849 by Charles Miller, who studied in England, where he learned to master the technical football. Upon returning to the country, brought a ball, a needle, a pump and fill a uniform. With the release of the sport, it became a passion of the Brazilian people, making our country the greatest world champion.

The first rules of football were created by the Football Association in London, England, through the managers of English clubs. First developed thirteen rules, but because of the requirements, they went to number seventeen.

In 1885 the sport became professionalized, stimulating the growth of its practice, its technical and tactical. Because of its popularity around the world, was created an international organization to coordinate the interests turned to the sport, FIFA - Federation Internationale de Football Association.

The origin of the sport took place at around 2600 years BC in China, where it was practiced by eight players on each team, a field of fourteen feet.

Among the modalities we have the football soccer, football court (also known as futsal or hall) and beach soccer (or beach soccer), each with its specific rules. Another way to play is soccer button, made in a board and played by two people, but playing the same rules.

Football matches take place at the municipal, state, national and international levels. Some leagues are further subdivided into series A and B, first and second division.

The state championships are played by teams from cities that make up each state and may have more than one team per city. These races are very bitter and often the most violent since the fans are on the streets.

The national championships are played by teams representing the states, where the champions come out of the country. In these competitions have the Brasileirão and the Brazil Cup.

International disputes occur every year as the Libertadores, South American, World of Japan, Champions League, and Italian championships, Spanish and many others. The most important world championship is the World Cup, held every four years. With it also happens in the Confederations Cup, in order to heat the teams attending the world cup.
